Recreation Attendant

Position Summary: To be responsible for the daily maintenance of the Recreation areas at Big Cedar Lodge, including the Mini Golf & Pickleball area, the Fitness Center, Swimming Pools and 5K Trail. Perform related guest services, as well as communicate rules and regulations of said Recreational areas.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Complete daily maintenance and cleaning of the Swimming Pools, Fitness Center, Mini Golf, Playground, Pickleball and 5K Trail.
  • Greet guests who enter recreational areas.
  • Answer general questions and give information about all recreational opportunities at Big Cedar Lodge, as well as assist guests with any problems or concerns they may have.
  • Stock and distribute towels at the Fitness Center and swimming pools.
  • Be pro-active to ensure a safe environment, for example; offer plastic containers to guests who bring glass containers into the pool area, monitor horseplay and other unsafe activity around the pool or other recreation areas.
  • Will perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Less than high school education
  • or up to one month related experience or training
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Telephone Skills:  Excellent verbal communication skills and attention to detail required.

Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.
