Maron Marvel has an immediate opening for a Director Attorney to join its Philadelphia office.  We are seeking an experienced 10+ year civil litigator for our Toxic Tort Practice Group and General Liability Practice Group. Successful candidates will have exceptional management, research, writing, negotiation, and litigation skills.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

•             Proactive case management from start to finish in both state and federal courts

•             Drafting of pleadings, written discovery, motions, and research

•             Frequent client communications and reporting

•             Comprehensive legal analysis, case evaluations, and strategy recommendations

•             Identify, analyze, and develop solutions for complex liability issues

•             Evaluate legal developments, assess impact on claims, and communicate developments

•             Expert witness coordination and collaboration

•             Deposition, court hearing, and mediation attendance

•             Communicate and negotiate with outside counsel, mediators, and the Court towards

              successful outcomes

•             Manage Team of Attorneys in Multiple Local Jurisdictions

•             Regular Communication with National and Regional Coordinating Counsel

•             Trial preparation and attendance

 

Qualifications:

 

•             J.D. degree from an accredited law school

•             Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey (other states a plus, but not required)

•             10+ years civil litigation and Toxic Tort experience in both state and federal courts

•             Knowledge of and experience within the Philadelphia asbestos bar

•             Demonstrated ability and desire to manage a large caseload proactively from start to finish

•             Demonstrated ability and desire to manage associate attorneys and staff

•             Demonstrated ability and desire to mentor and train attorneys and staff

•             Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment

•             Strong research ability, written and oral communication skills

•             Strong organization and problem-solving skills

•             Desire to deliver exceptional client service and contribute to continued client development
